Ok…
He posted another picture which clearly shows the guts of a vintage Neumann M49, that‘s why i though the body is vintage, too.

Nope, that’s also not a vintage M49…
Compare it closely to pictures of originals online.

That’s the same mic as in the other picture. He’s send me another picture of the same mic and it’s clearly not a vintage M49.

Maybe… to me it looks quite similar to one of the M49s i repaired some months ago
Not maybe. Look at the plastic pillars where the capsule connections goes. Neumann always used transparent acrylic material (Perspex).
This new body uses some kind of opaque plastic.
The solder tags are also bend by hand and fastened with rivets in this clone. Neumann used Niet Lötösen (don’t know the English word for it).
Also it seems the body is made out of aluminum instead of brass like the originals.
And like I said, Zhoujun himself told me that it’s a clone body. He had to install all the components himself. That’s also why there are these old resistors and caps because that’s what he bought. They are not part of it.
Don’t get me wrong, it is a nice clone but not an original.

Yes it is early prototype on the right. Jenny's basket and mesh alignment is really nice I will make a new connector and some other mods to look better.
But the body is made out of 3 parts, right? So bottom bell, shell and basket? How do you intend to fasten the shell and basket when using another connector?
