Neumann Serial Numbers

Hey Guys,

Sorry this might not be the right place to ask this question, but you guys here are very knowledge and might be able to help!

I'm looking a buying a vintage Neumann online and wondered if it should be any concern of mine at all the serial number on the body and on the caspule don't match? Or whether this is normal?

If you are ever in doubt about Neumann serial numbers you can ask them directly. They keep very good records.
These s.n. simply follow the amounts made of a particular piece. Usually if they are relatively close in number (these are just over 1000 pcs which could be within 1 batch) you can be sure they were manufactured around the same time however parts get replaced or swapped all the time without hurting the value of the mic..
