We just love paying taxes in the UK! Thankfully these amazing looking capsules are reasonably priced even with the tax and imports. If only I'd known when I made my Fet47 a couple of years ago!

The k87 capsules are about 2 weeks out right now. We're finishing enough for everybody plus I'm going to add some single diaphragm ones to use up more of the Overstock plates. Yes, cardioid Omni just would have slightly unbalanced figure 8. If your use of Figure 8 is not critical, you can comfortably buy the B stock ones. My shop software doesn't allow for Dynamic tax based on shipping option for some reason? Seems like an oversight. So if you select UK shipping DDP the tax is in the shipping charge instead but it will be prepaid, don't worry

Thanks so much for clearing this up! I didn't see the UK shipping option before, that makes a lot more sense now.
If i were to put in an order with various capsules and transformers, would you wait until you had everything in my order ready before you ship? I only ask because I'm looking at a list of items but I wouldn't want one of them to delay the whole order. And obviously shipping multiple times will be expensive for me.

So far I'd be looking to order this:

1 x UTM 0547F
1x K47 (Cardioid) < Why does the shop only allow me to add 2 of these at a time, I can't seem to add only 1?

2-6 x UTM 0587
2-6 x K87 (Cardioid/ Omni)
(finalising a group buy with friends, so not sure on numbers just yet)

keep in mind "economy shipping ddp" is evri so it depends on how good your local evri delivery drivers are. if they've given you trouble in the past, it's better to pick dhl ddp

i'll handle it however you put in the order notes. the shipping is cheap, so i don't mind splitting it up. as for the k47 cardioid issue, i think it's just a matter of the cart not updating and you already had one in there. just set the correct quantities in the cart. also, don't use this thread for this.

another issue is that cardioid/omni capsules are qc fails, so they have limited quantity and are first come, first serve. i usually disable the listing when we don't have any, but i was at namm when we ran out. you won't be able to buy a ton of these at any given time.

Can someone help me with the correct wiring for a UTM0587? how do the color codes relate to whats marked on the board?
Also there is a yellow wire I dont know about on the UTM.

Here is the data sheet. Has anyone else used one with this build?

Hint: notice the "phase dots" that mark the start of each winding...

Yellow wire is the electrostatic shield between the windings ("sw" in the schematic in the above-linked document), goes to ground.

There have been several revisions of the U87i and different PCB versions
Post here the schematic you use and clear pictures of the PCB
Is the Zener diode 24v or 33v?
The yellow wire connects to GND, being the shield between primary and secondary, as @Khron said, but in some schematics it is not drawn, it is understood.

Connect UTM 0587 as in the picture.
YEL connects together with BLK.
If the D-87 will not be in phase with any standard microphone (condenser or dynamic), then you must reverse the VIO and GRN wires of the transformer.
