Should I reference this as the components that would remain in the circuit?
Logically you should print the schematics of D-87 and ORS87 and put them side by side and analyze the differences, it was stated that ORS87 is a vintage U87 (so D-87) "stripped" of the option to change the polar patterns, of hi -pass and sensitivity reduction pad.
After drawing the changes, then you can easily modify the build. Otherwise it can become a too abstract, mental process for someone who doesn't have much experience.

Just catching up on the last couple years of posts. I built my pair using the SYT-5 bodies, Cinemag transformers and Maiku capsules. Would the Arienne K87 be a significant upgrade? Any better options for those who don't have the scratch for a genuine Neumann K87?

Maiku K87 are darker capsules, they are rebranded capsules(possibly 3u)

The Arienne K87 is a faithful replica of the original, so it would be a significant upgrade. The sound would be closer to the historical original
I recommend it.

Questions:
1. My green boards U1621 V1.2 have 2 pads marked P/R very close to each other.
Is this phase reverse? for a switch?
Do I bridge the 2 pads if I don't need that?

2. What are the 2 pads marked RT and SW on the same board?

3. On the one board I have the turret for the center FET pin, back side with a wire to G pad on the other board.
on the other board is there another turret that goes on, or do I just terminate the caps per the silkscreen? (without a cap directly soldered to a resistor).

Many Thanks

Those pads are unused, as are RT and SW.
I just wanted to mention also your R6 (1gig resistor) is soldered backwards. It changes nothing other than it will be more difficult to bias the fet. Not a huge deal though. That also is in the thread.

... Because Dany never bothered putting a corrected PCB revision into production(?) 🙈

Hi everyone, I'm trying to get a batch of D87's organised for myself and some friends in the UK. The main problem I'm having is sourcing a good donor body with switches, and figuring out whichvintagemicrophonepcbkit.com PCB kit is appropriate. I've been reading over this thread all weekend but I still have a couple of questions, any help would be appreciated, even just a link to a thread I may have missed would be great!

Firstly, I don't see anyone talking about Mic&Mod M87 as an option for the chassis?
https://www.micandmod.com/microphone-parts/microphone-body/m87-microphone-body/

Seems odd as they look quite good (in fact, they look identical to SYT-5's...) and have space for all the switches too. Has this option been discussed already? And if not, which PCB kit would fit best? I can't seem to find the exact dimensions/ screw hole distances for the PCB's ANYWHERE (am I being blind??).

Also, any update on the lead times on Soliloqueen's K47 + K87 capsules? Is it best to place the order and wait? I'm happy to wait a bit but it would be nice to know roughly how long we're talking here before investing. And also, where do these ship from? I'm in the UK and there's no VAT/Tax added at the checkout which also seems odd.

Can anyone clarify exactly what the Normal/Cardioid/ Omni/ B-stock options are? It's very confusing! All I've read so far is that Cardioid/ Omni = Bstock = slightly unbalanced in figure 8.. is that it?? The K47 has 3 options! So what's the deal there?

Sorry for the bombardment, If I've missed anything please redirect and I'll figure it out. Thanks for the amazing thread, can't wait to get involved!

About Arienne capsules:
I ordered capsules before Christmas, they arrived in Romania 2 weeks ago and now I'm waiting for them to be delivered to me by national mail. It is best to order even if they are not in stock, you put yourself on the waiting list and when they are available they will be shipped to you. In addition to what you pay on the website, you will have to pay customs duties, other taxes, transport in the UK.
The criteria, specifications, according to which Arienne capsules are divided into the available categories, are explained in the thread:

That's probably best to ask in the thread about those capsules - that's also where all availability & progress updates are posted.

They ship from the US, and there's no taxes added at checkout because that's on you (declaring them at customs whenever the package enters your country, and paying whatever fees are due).

Exact. @Jmaffei ask in the thread I posted previously.
@Khron explained very well.
I hope the extra fees don't cost me more than the capsules 😀

The k87 capsules are about 2 weeks out right now. We're finishing enough for everybody plus I'm going to add some single diaphragm ones to use up more of the Overstock plates. Yes, cardioid Omni just would have slightly unbalanced figure 8. If your use of Figure 8 is not critical, you can comfortably buy the B stock ones. My shop software doesn't allow for Dynamic tax based on shipping option for some reason? Seems like an oversight. So if you select UK shipping DDP the tax is in the shipping charge instead but it will be prepaid, don't worry
