So. I found a Vitavox STC 4017C-model today. NOS! In it's very own box.

Question is: is it still useful (depending on user, sure...) or is it to be seen mostly as an antiquity?

I have no idea if it differs from the STC 4017C, or if it's even comparable. Can't trust the Internet.
Specs?
Pricey?
Doorstop?!

By a weird coincidence, I came across the same mic today, although it has no manufacturer's name on it.

I haven't plugged it in yet but it seems to be very typical for its age, with a thick aluminium diaphragm.

These old dynamics tend to have quite a limited bandwidth so don't expect miracles from it. I'm guessing it will sounds very 'vintage', and you might find it useful as an effects mic, or lo-fi vocals.

But of course there are no 'good' and 'bad' sounds, so try and see what you find it useful for.

I'll have a listen tomorrow and report back - perhaps we can compare notes?

… having checked out Coutant.org, I found this…

Mine looks like the same diaphragm and other parts inside, but without the handle etc. I think you have the same mic as well.
