Hello, I'm selling a partial kit to build a pair of Piotr's S52 tube SDC's.
I gathered all these parts to build a pair of these, but never got around to it (yes,I've sinned too )
At the same time, I also picked a pair of Banzai's 84 kits, those I did built, now with 3U audio capsules, and honestly they fulfill my small, personal SDC needs just fine.
I can't count the number of times I told myself I have to finish this cool project, and honor my good friend Piotr, from whom I learned quite a bit, wherever he may now be, and probably sell them assembled, but honestly I have recognized I never will. During covid I built tons of DIY gear. It was fun. Today, things changed and I've sold most of it. I've lost interest, scaled down the toys to the essentials, and now focusing on my children, work and making music.
Selling as is, asking for $380 usd to let go quickly. Open to best offers. Shipping from Mexico. Send me a private msg if interested to quote shipping.
Kit includes the following, as also displayed in the pictures:
-Pair of Roxdon SDC-1 donnor mics (mics are working as is btw). These are compatible with 3U 5mm capsules too. Branding is NOT engraved/can be removed.
-Nice wood box for the mics.
-2 PSU enclosure kits (aluminum boxes, covers from Milan (VAMI), optional rubber feet and leather handles included too.
-2 sets of IEC connector and self lit, ON/OFF switch for the PSU.
-2 sets of pcb mount neutrik connectors that fit the PSU PCB's perfectly.
-2 sets of mic and PSU PCB's from Milan (VAMI).
-4 6S6B-V tubes.
-Pair of banzai/maiku capsules leftover from my banzai mics, and the original pair of Roxdon capsules, wich actually sound pretty good, they can easily serve well as is, or you can upgrade later to 3U's. I transplanted (switched) the internals on both of these sets, so that they would match how they are seen in the photos (i.e, the roxdon capsule parts are inside the banzai chromed tops and vice versa).
-Pair of switchcraft 5 pin inserts.
-Pair of Milan's suggested film capacitors from ebay.
What you need to complete:
-tube mic cables
-BOM/list of parts for mic and PSU, easily sourced from mouser.
-Neutrik mic traffos, also easily available from mouser.
-Custom toroid traffo for both B+ and heater, or individual set of traffos for each.
-Some screws, nuts and some hardware (hex posts) to assemble PSU's.
Unlike LDC's, there are not many DIY kit options for SDC mics , let alone tube SDC's. Make these yours
