Just curious why you're not hosting on something like Amazon Cloud Services.  why did you opt for your own hardware server vs. something provided by a bigger company?

@mulletchuck, AWS is expensive with reoccurring fees. I toyed with just offloading some of the images to Amazon to try it out but for GroupDIY I realized it wasn't going to be financially feasible. Managing a server can be a headache but you also have more control--it can be frustrating being in a sandbox and playing by the host's restrictions.

That's the good news. The "bad" news is that in the coming days/weeks, there will be periods of downtime to implement some of the needed changes to the server.
