Taiwan has reason to be nervous, mainland China has been watching how the world treats Russia after invading Ukraine.

Having a scrum in parliament looks like vibrant democratic speech. ;)

It's not directly about China. It's about changes to their constitution. More importantly, it would stop immunity for elected parliamentary. And that doesn't fall well with the sitting powers. Apparently some of them have something to fear.

Almost like the mean girls in the US house this week....

The oversight committee markup on holding Garland in contempt turned into a hissy fit.

That's one way to change the subject

I'm just trying to figure out what news surfaces internationally. One example: there have been a flurry of floods all over the world. Even in desert countries like Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan and Qatar. But also in Kenya, Brazil, Turkey... Nothing much about it in the big MSM.

I didn't know they had a habit of fighting in the Taiwan parliament.

Taiwan usually means quality, compared to mainland China. But I never order car parts there. A few of my friends do, but they drive Saab cars. Saab is no longer, but the Taiwanese Saab importer has vowed to keep all parts available. And these seem the same quality as those supplied by Saab in the past. It's easy for the latest cars made by Saab, as these are rebadged Ford US cars with some cosmetic changes. My friends drive the older genuine Saabs (900 series) and these parts seem good.
