I'm modding some cheap chinese microphone here.
I saw the recent AKG 414 and this brought me to an idea.
Can I put a tiny blue led in, without hurting the 48 volt phantom power ?

thanks

Or screwing-up the mike electronics or the sound?

You can sometimes put the LED in series with some leg of the amplifier and use wasted voltage. You can get enough to light an LED. But details depend a lot on the circuit.

Post the exact schematic you are using and let's see where is a good plate to sneak an LED in.
