Putting LO2567 in 1073

Hi there. The 1073 requires a Gapped output transformer to work. That is the LO1166. The 1166 can take DC and the LO2567 is ungapped and can NOT take DC.

You Mentioned a 1163? Did you mean a 1166?

Hope this helps
Eric

So what are the drawbacks from using lo2567 instead, I cant really hear any difference
With the 1073 output stage you have to set up the standing current in the 2N3055 transistor in the class A output stage to the correct value - somewhere between 50mA and 70mA if memory serves. This level of current will saturate the core of the LO2567, its inductance will drop to nearly zero and you will get no output. The fact that you do get an output indicates that either the 2N3055 standing current is far too low which means the headroom will be seriously compromised, or it means the LO2567 you have is actually a gapped transformer.

Cheers

Ian
