ZZ Top was definitely a huge influence on me. Being how I was born and raised in Texas, you just hear that growing up, I been fortunate in that respect.

Anyway here is a short clip of ZZ top describing their first gig. We all start somewhere.

Sorry to hear this. I use to see them at a little club in Boulder back in 71. Always loved the blues Side of the top. Incredible rise with videos made for MTV. I’ve taken so much from Billy in my own playing. I got to record them at red rocks in 83. One of the high points in my career. Such a solid band I’m gonna miss Dusty. He played both guitar and rhythm on his bass. RIP you bad ass from Texas.
 
Took me years to rediscover the bands earlier stuff , it was early 80's Eliminator era I first heard them .
Very sorry now I didnt make it down to the local arena the last time they played my city a few years ago .
