Just finished building an Elam251 clone into a T.bone donor body, and was left with its insides. I was wondering if there are recommendations for projects to use the capsule for. Looking for something quirky and characteristic, as the capsule isn't great to begin with. I tried searching the forum, but couldn't find anything. Thanks y'all!

What model is the donor microphone?
T.Bone SCT-800?

To reiterate, I'm looking for a weird use case for the parts. One idea was to either add some sort of distortion circuit, or a compressor circuit like the SSM2166 into it.

Yeah, SCT-800, so the capsule is a generic 32mm K67. It also has the transformer left over, though i am not sure how useful that is to re-use.
Both the capsule and the transformer are good.
The stock sct800 circuit is relatively flat.
I really like the capsule.
You can make a cheap Shoeps, in any body you have, with parts at hand.
Or a circuit that also uses the transformer.

You can do whatever you want.
It's easy to distort classic circuits😁
It's easy to do weird things. And it's exciting!😀💥

Thanks! I really did not like the original mic, i might imagine it working for distorted guitar amps, but not much more. That might also be just me speaking after AB:ing it against the ELAM clone, which is in a different level alltogether

Yep!
My mic building just is not quite at the level of designing such circuit from scratch, which is why i thought there might be some projects to use as reference

You won't be able to integrate the SSM2166 circuit into your weird microphone because the Phantom can't provide the total current required by the whole circuit and I think you don't want to use an external source for the microphone.
You can instead overdrive the input jFET, from BIAS, using a jFET with extremely low Idss, using a Highs polarization voltage for capsule, etc.etc.⚡
