Ribbon Mic Mod - Pics and Soundsamples

Any thoughts on the beyer thickness?  I was going to order a sheet of 1.8 and a sheet of 2.5.

The originals have 2.5 microns FWIW.

Beyer ribbons are corrugated across the length and not the width like most mics. 

Both directions, actually.
But yes, the middle section is corrugated lengthwise.

Re: K&J magnetics, they source their magnets from China like most sellers of magnets in the US and other places. I have received magnets from them that have at least 1mm deviation along the length of a 50mm magnet, not very good for a ribbon mic since the gap between ribbon and magnet should be small eg. 100 microns. 1mm is 1000 microns.
