Sennheiser MK4 - 2 Tube Mod

Today I converted a Sennheiser MK4 digital (ebay.. ) into a tube microphone.. the mk4 capsule has to be completely disassembled.. because it already contains electronics directly in the capsule.. after removing the electronics.. connection to an SCT800 blank .. then all mods C8, transformer, 6072 tube, cathode bypass adjusted etc. the microphone sounds first class! (edit: change kathode bypass to 22uF! sounds perfekt....)

Can I ask you what you use for C3 and the cap for C8 looks different to the one in the other sct800 mod? Which one performs better in your opinion?

C3 4300PF Silver Mica, C8 1,5UF >160V

Interested in more information, especially before/after sound clips if you have them. I like the sound of the MK4 a lot, we chose it over a U87 in a recent vocal shootout.

Did you wind up with a C12-esque circuit?

sorry no before/after sound clips (i bought it without digital cable.. ebay.. ) , i can send you a after clip if you want.. it ist the original sct800 circurit (no-ccda), here a 2 samples : MK4
