I am curious about that Audiotronics with API knobs
its a heavily modified 16 channel 8 bus 110. the channels have discrete opamps in the preamp+EQ, and also the main summing and output amps. LME49710 for fader buffers. So from input to stereo out there is only one (very nice sounding) IC in the signal path.
I will eventually transformer balance the preamp sends, and maybe also the direct outs (or maybe active balanced?), upgrade ICs for the 8 bus summing/output amps, add transformerless control room out, and give the 8 track tape return its own inputs so they can be used as 8 extra inputs on mix. oh and I'm going to drop a GSSL into the center section.
the API knobs just class it up a little bit!
probably the closest thing i'll ever have to a real API console, at about 1/10th the price! it sounds amazing.
