Slanted Grill On 47 Body

No one has done a slanted grill on a 47 sized body… I’m surprised!

Or has anyone ever seen such a beast or know of an easy mismatch?

Reason probably is because the cylindrical grill is considered an integral part of the U47's very characteristic sound. It's not a flat mic and that's the sound people are after. Neumann designed the M49 in part to try to achieve a mic with a flatter response (and much more flexible, and remote, pattern control).

Right… I’m just thinking of the DIY-world; where a more neutral grill and lots of space in the body is useful.
