Unless there was an invoice in there. May try to hock them somewhere if so...
Sorry you have to deal with this.
...or a customs declaration. If I want to send parcels from Germany to the USA, I have to stick the customs declaration with the weight, quantity and value visibly on the outside of the parcel! This will certainly not be any different for other countries, as this is a requirement of US customs.

I would monitor ebay, craigslist and other second hand plattforms. The transformers are not easy to sell despite their high value, as they are very special.

Do they have known serial numbers or other unique features that you can use to prove they are yours?

Thanks buddy. I’ve been watching Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, and Reverb for sure. I forgot to check eBay. Unfortunately I doubt they have serials although I have a few others from this manufacturer already so I’ll check, but even if they did, I wouldn’t have been able to copy them down since I never had the package. I’ll check with the manufacturer. The package was sent as a personal item with a lower than actual value. I will never do that again… Most of the time you aren’t given the option but this time I was and I made a mistake.

Unfortunately, you are not the first to have to make this experience, trust me. It's only cool as long as everything runs smoothly.

No, it’s not totally like that everywhere. I left NYC 20 years ago. Had some great times growing up there. Never regretted leaving there, never will go back. It’s a pos city. It’s only gotten worse. Time to leave, my friend.

Don't feel too bad about not getting insurance, the likelyhood of getting any shipping service to pay up on an International shipment claim is pretty much zil.
About the only thing paying for it may get you is a little less drop kicking of the package in shipment, and slightly better odds it makes it to the correct address (which it did).
I hear reports of this problem from many in NYC, there needs to be a solution implemented.
Something as simple as an automated email or text from the shipping company requiring one to opt out of signature on delivery by the recipient is NOT required...

Here is the real shitty part to the whole thing. The porch pirate took the stuff not knowing the contents of the package. We can assume they are not an diy audio guy or electronics guy. So when he sees the contents of the package, he probably said wtf is this and tossed it all out.

Years ago I did tech work at a local
Audio school. One day someone stole a neumann 147 mic. They were kind enough to leave the cable and psu. Boy was I pissed off. Not only were they dumb enough to steal something, they were dumb enough to not take all the parts it needs to work properly. I put of flyers that basically said you I obviously needed it more then anyone so if you fess up, I’ll give you the rest of it so you can at least have a working microphone.
It never happened.
