Do you have either of these variations of the 22193
in either cream or black ??  Which one if you do ?
(Pardon the bad old cell phone pic)

Dropped everything here at the Test Kitchen
because I JUST had to stuff one!! :)

On the bench supply doing preliminary tests
its passing signal nicely  & looks clean on the scope.
Freq response looking at the scope,  goes flat past 30kHZ
The gain trimmer easily sets gain between +10db - +15db
(Pick your fader amp standard)

LOOKING GOOD SO FAR !! :)

Got to do some listening tests this weekend.

Hi, Gary.  A bit off topic, but how did you specify the plating for the edge connector?  Working on a SOMEWHAT similar PCB design here (nope...nothing for a Sphere...lol) , and I'm fretting about the "fingers".  Thanks!

Hi Bri

Most of the time I specify Au for fingers but
since this design is strictly a proto run,  its just the
same finish as the TH pads. The fingers on this PCB
are really just oversized surface mount pads ... nothing special.

Saved me a bunch of money not doing Au and I will
probably never do a production of these PCBs.

Best...

Lance..

They sound fine here at the shop.  :)

I am sending a  pair of these off to a buddy of mine
that has a beautiful Eclipse A for his opinion.

GARY

My buddy with the Eclipse A got back to me yesterday
with a big thumbs up!! :)
He can't hear the difference between a channel with the EQ bypassed
and a channel with the new BST in place.

Lance,  these new BSTs should work nicely for you.

Hiya,  Gary.  Digging up an old thread...

So what PCB vendor would you suggest that can electroplate "edge fingers"?  In my case, working on a gizmo for the 500 format, and I want 'sturdy" fingers.

Thanks!

Bri

Here is a pic of my Sphere console project with 12 new boost cards that sub for EQ's.

Big thanks and appreciation to Gary for designing these pcb's!  The console sounds very good now. Before these I had an opa604 circuit doing the job on a few channels  but the sphere cards sound better in the whole audio spectrum.

The console frame and top is temporary built of wood. I'm not sure what color to paint the final top to harmonize with the grey
faders and VU panel (not pictured).  I'll probably paint this temporary top to experiment with colors.
