It’s one of of those things. We need the rain, lots of rain as we have had drought conditions for a long time. We don’t need it all at once.
As I often say when asked about how things are going “we are holding our own” it was the last transmission sent out by the Great Lakes shipping ore carrier, Edmond Fitzgerald. It then disappeared out of sight and sank without warning or distress call. No survivors.
The phrase usually applies.
 
It's been an "atmospheric creek" here in northeastern CA - happens every few years. Maybe 6"-8" liquid (rain and snow) in the last week with no major flooding. I live on the side of a rock pile hill, so no mudslides. Dirt road with eroded ruts across it a foot to 18" deep - that's why I have a tractor and 4WD vehicle. Folks to the west and south are really hurting, but "I'm holding my own." :)
