Hi All,
time to answer some questions:
1. I only sell the repair kits inside Europe.
2. The "repair kits" include pcb and ALL necessary components and a detailled assembly/test instruction.
3. Payment only by banking transfer, shipment via DHL, you get a tracking number.
4. MBC5X0 repair kits still available, S502 repair kits under construction.
5. Prices only upon request via PM, pls be so kind not to post them in public space :)
Thanks

I had the same question. Three, or maybe 4 or even 5 things to look at:
1) Diameter 20mm
2) Thread size: unknown to me. Does anyone know?
3) Capsule interface. Maybe transplant the interface from the 502 body. Don't expect this to be a major issue. Or else, 3D print an interface.
4) Body tube color, if you think that is important.
5) Pad and low-cut switches, if you want those.

797 Audio makes 20mm duameter bodies, e.g. the ones sold as Behringer B-5. But will the threads match?

And maybe the Neewer SDCs? They have a 20mm diameter and are damn cheap.

I'll give them a shot. Just ordered a pair.

The Neewer NW-410 have a fairly large tolerance.
The frequency responses of the capsules vary widely. (You have to be 'lucky'.)
But that is of course no problem if it is only about the bodies...

Count me in for four sets.

I saw that one...
I have become quite suspicious when it comes to 'Chinese' reproductions of existing microphones.
They usually manage to copy the appearance perfectly, but the electronics and sound quality often leave much to be desired.

And as usual: 'you get what you pay for' and 'if it looks too good to be true...'

Sure, suspicions are justified. But sometimes you are pleasantly surprised. Weren't we pleasantly surprised when the S502 MK2 capsules seemed to be close replicas of the Schoeps MK4 capsules? And if there's something that leaves to be desired, then we fix it, don't we?😄

Anyway, I got both the S502 MK2 and the Neewer mics. And.... the threads don't match😪 Bummer....

But the S502 MK2 capsules can be mounted on the Behringer B-5, old version with thread rings, though it's a loose fit. The t.bone SC140, which is also has a 20mm body, has the same threads as the B-5, but won't hold the S502 capsule. Threads are too short. And my "customer" (my son) wants the body and capsule to be of the same color.

So the question now is: who knows a commercially available black SDC with 20mm body, made by 797 Audio?
