Synth DI's

I am looking to build some DI's for my synths. My countryman DI's with my yamaha pm1000 and my api 312 direct ins are my favorite -they both seem to emphasize the fundamental pitch on even weak synths. I have breadboarded the countryhick, hamptone, and Bo Hansen 1975 DI with the Lundahl 1538 xformer. All sounded very good but still lacked the fundamental strength of the api or countryman. I wonder am I doing something wrong or is there something I can specifically do to enhance these circuits for synths.

If you built the Country Hick, You have built the Countryman. The only variable difference is the transformer; and I can't see that making a drastic change to the sound unless you use a really crappy transformer...
