Having been haunting this forum for some time, I though it's about time I tried to contribute something back.
This forum has been an invaluable tool in building my first microphone, and I am quite pleased with the result.
It started out as building an "Alice" circuit out of bits robbed from a cheap donor microphone and what I had laying around. Capsule is a tsb165a not the original 12mm from the donor.
After a bit of messing about and deciding I wanted battery instead of phantom power, the PCB attached to this and the next few posts came into being.
It seems appropriate that I share this with the people who gave me the information I needed to make a start, the attached PDF files should allow you to produce toner transfer copies of the board for etching.
While I am no expert on microphones, this cheep little circuit using a 2sk596 fet initialy stolen from the donor microphone, has a pleasant tone, and sounds close to how I imagine I sound while singing(badly).
I welcome thoughts on improvements alterations and alternative uses/components.
I also hope it may offer encouragement or insperation to those about to take the plunge.
