Yes, that's exactly what I'm going to do. I was a bit unsure at first, as this is a delicate area and I have no experience with it, but after member kingkorg's post, it was clear that I would simply cut it away. Thanks for the feedback anyway!

You can ignore it, no negative effects. But you can easily remove it with an exacto. It's a good capsule.

Well the tension of the ring is holding the rest, and in some capsules, the diaphragm is also glued to the ring.

Yes, so it should be safe. But I wasn't sure at first and that's why I asked. Better safe than sorry...
