If einschaltdämpfung means "insertion loss" it appears that the W86 has 34db and the maximum input voltage is < 8V.

My idea is to build a stereo master eq.
I've never eq'ed a mix or master more than 3db so maybe the eq can have only 3db of gain loss...
Making a 3 band (low shelf, parametric mid, hi shelf) with +/- 3db of gain would be perfect fot mastering...

I was thinking about the irons just for sound

That's right, 34 dB is the gain of the V72, maybe it wouldn't need that much loss if it was designed for a different system.

the way stuff is recorded nowadays, you would be doing everybody a favor by knocking off 3 db.
