Trying to help friend find small project studio in UK

I have a good friend who lives in the York area and is looking to find a good recording studio to do a small project instrumental record.  He needs a place that can track live drums and will handle the remaining instruments (mainly guitars) himself.  Was hoping someone could chime in with some recommendations.  He is able to travel 50 miles so anything within that radius from York would be suitable.  Much Thanks!

I have a room suitable for drums, and we're about 4 miles south of the city centre.

Alternatively, my friends at Valley Wood Studios over in Leeds do a good job and are reasonably priced. It's about 30 mins away from York.
