just need to build SOMETHING...but on a tight budget, so I cant do anything really fancy...I thought I put together an API style pre, but again on a budget, I'd use a 5532, no output transformer...and I found one of these
F064370A.jpg
in my parts bin. sending a sine through it gives me roughly 1:6, or rather 6:1 since it is for connecting car stereo out to a bigger amp...I realize that since the "6" side is expecting a 2ohm <25watt output, it probably isn't optimal for using backward as mic-tx, but...could this be of any use for home/project studio use? or am I just wasting my time?...I'd love to use REAL parts...but that budget thing again...and want to build NOW...
any thoughts appreciated

Well, I think the transformer is not going to be that much use for most serious projects, but I did want to post and say that the topic/thread title make me laugh! :green: -A lot!

I will...if it works somewhat...I think I'll try with a TL072 instead and have a 20-100k secondary load resistor( to make things easier for that little transformer)...if it works ok, I can allways upgrade opamp and transformer later, and if it doenst work, I had some fun and it didnt cost anything..

thank's guys.. :guinness:
