I have a bunch of Biamp 1642 mic input transformers laying around. Based on info I found here they seem to be 1:6.5 turns ratio.
I was wondering what DIY preamps I could build with these? I am looking for a vintage/colored sound.
Not sure if I need to provide more information than just turns ratio to be able to answer that question. Neewbie here.
Also, any opinion about the quality of these transformers? Are they worthwhile to be used in DIY projects?
Thanks!
