The 0.1uFd capacitor is charged to a negative voltage, enough to reduce the gain of the 6BC8. The 25K Attack pot slows the charging of the 0.1uFd cap. > what I should mod to get slower attack times. Change the Attack pot to 100K or 250K. Or if you also want longer Release, chnage the 0.1uFd cap to 0.3 or 0.5uFd.
