Only Spoiler in todays World - is the fact that a lot of 'Modern' ECC81, ECC82 and ECC83 (goes for the US numbered12AT7, 12AU7 and 12AX7 as well) do NOT have a 300mA Heater !!!!
Most of the Russian 'Renamed Models' use 350-400mA => Plugging one of those in a Serial Heater System, and you get a lowered Voltage on those Heaters in that Tube ...!!!!
A good number of Chinese has the same problem ...!!!

Beside being a problem (of variable size - depending on ...) - it can also be a problem in Parallel Heater Circuits if the Transformer can't supply the extra Juice (Amperes) required ....

That's interesting, do you know why that is? I mean, they have been building these types of tubes for ages, the specifications are unchanged. Is it a particular technical production challenge or just sloppiness?

Higher current might mean less wire (for the same thickness/gauge), thus some material & processing cost savings...

Jakob is spot on - they are standard Russian types that has been 'Reprinted'.
If my sieve of a brain remembers correctly - then one of those sold as ECC82 it the Russian N1P.

The first one I got into contact with, was an EL84 where pin 1 & 2 were connected internally ....
Sorry to admit that I only really realized this when I plugged brand new EL84 in the Amp and Noise + start of Red-Plating before I yanked the Power Cord Out !
Inspection of the Amp revealed that G1 was pin 1 and Not 2 !!!! => Me Googling found the answer to be a Russian equivalent that has better Data than the EL84. I have seen a few where pins 1 & 2 where connected internally and a few Amp done that way so they could use both EL84 and the Russian type.

Later I've seen a good number of Russian 'ECC83' that has a lower Gain and higher Heater Current - matching the original Russian tubes specs.
As they work very well and sounds good in Guitar Amps - I don't object ....
