Hello,

Yesterday I made my first post and in an hour I got the needed information. Really amazing and pretty motivating as well. Thx again Kubi. Here is the deal. A while ago I bought a lot of siemens distributionampcards. They seem to be made as a talkback DA and I do not really have a lot of use for it when making a rack mastering desk. (Look at my previous post)

I intend to rebuild a DA using the trafo's I have at the time. These are Picatron RÜP 266/1M (24 pieces in total) and Picatron RÜP 715 (144 pieces in total) Here a picture of the trafo?s

My plan is the following:

Now I intend to make a PCB card on witch I can house 12 distributionamps at once. Or maybe like twelve strips that can be put in a 19" rack. I would like to use the best schematic available for this but the only thing is I can't seem to find it on this bord and the links I found are too old and don't work anymore. At the end I would be more then willing to sell the distributionboard PCB's at manufacturingprice if other members are interested in them. :thumb:

Kind regards,

Geert

Assuming the original distibution amp is just "input transformer -> opamp with crappy class B output stage and adjustable gain on single supply 24V -> output transformers" without any other nasty stuff in between, maybe you could simply replace these vertical amp boards with something nicer in a pin compatible package and keep the rest.

A simplified version of http://www.jlmaudio.com/JLM%20Hybrid%20opamp.htm without the servo should fit on a vertical ~(25mm)^2 PCB. Or maybe one of the many discrete opamp projects here could be modified (i put one into a similar package for example).

just my €0.02

Wow.... thx guys, that is some usefull information. I might consider doing that, But I'll think I'd be better off using the transformers in a new design. Today I have been busy learning Express PCB using the SSL 9000 Line Amp schematic. I'll post the PCB including the files when I'm finished with it.

For the distributionamp I like the idea of using a dual opamp with the two outputs of the opamp feeding three transformers each. I'm thinking of building a collection of trafos therefor having a distributionamp with six different transformers. Having different flavors at my disposal. I'm getting pretty excited about this project I'll post everything here so I have perfect schematics before starting to make PCB's.

Kind regards,

Geert

welcome to the messageboard. if your space bar is broken, i am sure one of the people here can tell you how to fix it.

there were a couple of good threads about distribution amplifiers here a while back.

Hmmm,

Well Yeah just bought a new computer and have to adjust to the keyboard I guess (damn wireless things....) No just my fault thx for pointing out.

I have practically finished my SSL 9000 line amp schematic  the PCB is on its way. I'll post it in Express PCB format. Made a few changes so all connections for the dual lin pot and in and outputs are on one connector.

Kind regards,

Geert
