> Is this for real?
The product is real enough. It gives a modest improvement in healing stubborn wounds such as diabetics are prone to. It may not be a great help for a cut-off finger on an otherwise healthy person.
There is a lot of research into the healing process. The body tends to cut its losses, scar-over, and not bother to re-grow. That is probably a good plan for a large mature animal in a dirty jungle. A person with a support system for food and shelter can probably spend the effort to re-grow large chunks, if the body can be persuaded to do so.
The Organogenesis company is in trouble. It is costing more to make the product than they can sell it for. All new-tech is like that. At first it seemed costs would come down, and ultimately this could be a cash-cow, but that's not happening. Investors say they were not told of all the difficulties, we must leave that to the courts.
