ampeg svt output transformer...

I have an early 70s SVT with a blown OT...fliptops.net has repros for $265US. they won't tell me who makes them but i believe they're USA made. has anyone heard these? know a cheaper or more suitable replacement? i know hammond makes a big 280W OT but it only has 4,8, and 16 ohm taps...i need the 2 ohm.

should i consider a rewind?

Mojotone has them. I think they're made by Heyboer but don't quote me on that. Fliptops is good people but you can find them cheaper.

Mercury Magnetics makes a(n expensive) copy.
I've never used that particular one, but all the other MM stuff i've used has been top notch

the mojo is out of stock but i might wait for that one when it comes in.

i knew about the mercury, but i forgot about it because it is sooooo much money.
