aluminum guitar pickup coil

anyone who can tell me - what coil to buy
it has to be small - and that certain ratio that i dont know about

i just mean the transformer that sits after the aluminum rig
theres a million things out there, im just not sure what to buy

As we only know its Secondary dc resistance, we do not have data enough to guesstimate..

I think DIYer use current sense transformers for copies. You will need to pick a good step up ratio
Do a search for "current sense transformers"
The triad one looks interesting
Also look up the Les Paul low Z pickups

That's the one we used a few years back when brainstorming and prototyping a Finnish Zither (kannel) pickup with a fellow DIYer.

I'm sure there's plenty of other threads about low impedance stringed instrument pickups out there on the 'net, but this one:

contains a wealth of information and ideas about both the theory and how to actually make such a pickup.

The fellow I did these with got much farther, this is the final prototype I made:









The neodymium buttons are conductive, so they must be insulated from the primary loop somehow.
