You'll have to be more specific, scott2000, what's your beef?

4. You will find that the members of this community are incredibly courteous and respectful of each other, so please reciprocate those gestures. Leave the Flame-war mentality at another forum.  Personal attacks as well as general hateful comments (regarding race, religion, gender, sex, etc...) will not be tolerated.

I would have to take him seriously to be bothered by his comments.  Most times I just entirely ignore his paste work.

I repeat the proper way to register complaints is to use the "report to moderator" button on the bottom of posts.  I am not the only mod working on this forum and I suspect other mods might not be as generous as I have been.

I am pretty strict about obvious ad hominem attacks (that I see).  I probably didn't even see some of that stuff you quoted (I ignore most of his posts), and I am not inclined to go back and search for insults or nonsense pastes.

PS: Sorry to the forum for this veer...  Bitcoin and crypto are valid topics of interest

I have been 'incredibly courteous' to you, scott2000. You just keep going,"UHHHH....ROTFL........" though, instead of responding to what I say. You've been treated very politely in general, imo.

You should thank me.

I do feel I have to ask that you try to make a better effort to understand what you're being told, before you respond, though. At the least, you'll make a better impression for yourself, and people reading will find it helpful too, I'm sure. :)

Saw article today about how Jihadi are using bitcoin to raise funds outside the international banking system to avoid controls.

Unclear how significant this is if at all...

PS: Pres Maduro tweeted that he sold 4.77 billion chinese yuan worth ($735M)  of Petros. Must be true it was on twitter.  ;D

How I should have responded to your comment

I've been more along the lines with a question of the credibility of posting cherry picked links that only tell one side of the story or maybe asking what other options do we have outside of something being reported? I mean really, it doesn't even make sense that something can't be reportedly happening because, it's all reporting. Just because it's a different view, or a different report, doesn't lend itself to less credibility than something else just because it supports one's own personal belief....

Just because you can't make any kind of determination, that doesn't mean one can't be made be me or someone else. Your confusion isn't relevant. Further, I'm not here to decode whatever pops into your head into a coherent point, that's your job. Work on it, it's an important skill.

I can't make any sense of that. Just state what you're trying to say, I don't need random examples of various things, and you don't need to paraphrase.

Ok well, looks to me like you're trying to steer the conversation away from whatever the topic is, and on to your (lack of) understanding of the topic, and your thoughts specifically. You're trying to make yourself the topic. I have no interest in that.  ;)

you guys take it off list, or just stop...  don't make me lock this completely unrelated thread.

It seems obvious to me what is going on so just ignore the nonsense...

"Reminder: cryptocurrencies are still a new and hyper-volatile asset class, and could drop to near-zero at any time”

“Don’t put in more money than you can afford to lose. If you’re trying to figure out where to store your life savings, traditional assets are still your safest bet”

Whether this is a response by Vitalik Buterin to scam or this very message is scam itself -- it really doesn't matter (at least to me). The 'message' itself sounds right.

Read e.g.:
http://observer.com/2018/02/ethereum-founder-vitalik-buterin-cryptocurrency-could-drop-near-zero-anytime/

Seems like a genuine enough message to put out .
Its just so easy for the crypto  markets to be dented by bogie social media hackers, who spread disinformation , public sentiment is more manipulable than ever now with social media becoming the no 1 source of news for many .
I know one person who does cryptos alright , I think theres a kind of burnout that goes along with it ,not dissimilar to what  gamblers can suffer, or high flying bankers for that matter .Funny how a man who gambles all his earnings away on the horses and cant put food on the table at home gets branded a degenerate, yet the banks can gamble with other peoples money and in the case of Ireland at least, the tax payer ends up footing the bill(ions). I stopped dealing with the banks years ago ,best decision I ever made.

Yeah, these people don't see it that way either,

You suggesting Germany should stage a coup over here and install Hillary into office, and then start killing half of us with the other half? Or is that just for poor people who have some nice oil for us to take from them? When you're in no danger yourself, and talk is as cheap as it gets?  ::)

But I'm sure the petro is going to help....Gotta be better than 13000% hyperinflation......

None of this rises to a level that I think their government needs to be overthrown and their country and people destroyed by civil war, so we can pick over their carcasses and steal their oil. I'd rather have single payer health care and leave them to their own business.

.

Well, as if I needed an example of what I said above about modulation of public opinion via social media ,this morning my local radio station aired a story about how one of the Kardashians twittered that she doesnt use snapchat anymore , over night more than a billion was wiped off the stock value. This mass market social media has people acting more like lemmings , less independent thinking, more herd mentality.

Heres a funny clip specially selected for you Tands ,enjoy.

OK Tands Strike two....  clean up you act, or take it on the road.

The topic for this thread is crypto currency.

I don't know why you're talking to me, you were the one who brought up Venezuela in this thread and scott2000 is the one who brought it up again the very next post after you asked us to stop.

Go ahead and check.

It's not about Venezuela, but the tone and message in one of your last posts -- that is, in one of those that got deleted from the forum.

(And it's also good to see that you quickly edited and deleted the quote from your very last post...  ;) )

Anyway, just read that Singapore-based 'Protocol Republic Protocol' is raising money to establish a 'dark pool' for big-time investors (hedge funds etc) to anonymously trade large sums of cryptos. Not sure this is a good thing...

Yes I mentioned Venezuela in this thread and others because it is newsworthy and actually on topic since they announced a cryptocurrency.

Scott has experienced an influx of refugees from that socialist paradise to FL to escape the poverty and repression. He has heard stories from actual venezuelans who left.

You have become even more argumentative and now intemperate.

The rules of the road here are for only civil discourse. You do not have the authority to tell anyone what they can or can't talk about (that would be me), and saying that forum members here are somehow responsible for causing people to die in Venezuela is too ugly to ignore.

I repeat you have been warned, clean up your behavior or you will be removed.  This is a DIY audio electronics forum and your contributions here are of questionable value, but tolerated as long as you don't break the rules.

Keep breaking the rules and you will reap the consequences.
