Your post came at the perfect time, I was just about to start soldering. Yes, I mistakenly thought I had read that the two are interchangeable but I don't believe this to be the case in reality. One is a PNP and the other is an NPN

Oh well, one more part to order I guess and then I can get down to building this DI .

No doubt this post saved me a few hours in troubleshooting time.

If I had a few laying around I'd be gold . I'm only getting into electronics now after a health scare gave me the kick in rear to finally get around to it.


No electronics stores anywhere nearby so the internet it is!

How much amplification would you get if you swapped the NPN and PNP (using BC560C and BC550C for an example, obviously the collectors to emitters as well)?

This year I've been in a few situations where I would have liked a Stereo Bo Hansén DI. As small as possible, and with an optional external PSU if there is no Phantom power available at the venue.
So for Christmas, I did this present for myself:
