Anyone got the GR meter problem before?

Have you done the all the calibrations as described in the 1176 docs?

Discrete meter calibration in this video

Mark

Is there anyway to copy that clip so I can take it to my studio to follow the calibrations. I do not have internet access in my studio.

help!
After a year I use my REV A
Yesterday I had some problems
I found that R32 (39hom) burned

I tried to replace it but still burning
I disconnected the output transformer and all is well
What can be?

p.s. transformer connections are correct (I use the compressor for a year)
Thanks

Yes, I think there are tools that allow you to capture videos from youtuub and save them to your hard drive.

I'll have to check mine too see what the condition of that resistor is.

But perhaps it's seeing a little too much heat, try raising it up off the board or going to a 1/2 watt resistor.

Thanks Biasrocks
the strange thing is that for years it worked perfectly ???
Where can I find the REV A point by point tension ?
thanks

Are you sure you don't have a short or a damaged part in the area?

Usually when something is working fine, then suddenly a resistor implodes there is an issue with another component in the area.  I had the same issue in a mic pre once and it turned out a transistor had broken in half.

Mike

I do not know ....
I just know it was fitted by a year in my studio
There is a schematics with the tensions?
thanks

Sorry for my english
yes i mean the voltages

I noticed something strange
if I unplug the black wire resistance does not burn
any ideas?

Recheck you transformer connections.

They are printed on the board iirc.

From the top

R32 still burning, i checked the wiring diagram 100 times do new stuuf on all point checked th resitor value , try with an another output tx.

Lost!!!

i wouldn't try another o/p transformer. i had a similar problem with my rev. F. R36 (100 ohms) kept frying. it was a bad transistor. once i replaced all the transistors (and R36) it worked fine. i suggest you do that. good luck

DP.

Hey David,
you can use the You Tube downloader, which converts the FLV files to other formats...so you can play them back off a memory stick  http://download.cnet.com/YouTube-Downloader/3000-2071_4-10647340.html

works a treat!!

Q4 and Q5 or perhaps Q6 too hot

Thanks stereokillah!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D
I've changed Q5 and Q6 and the problem is gone......

I take this opportunity:
I also built two rev D
1 = OK
2 = Ok but if you turn down the output pot there is low oscillation and meter go to the end of scale

any suggestions?
THANKS!!!!

I have the same problem with my 2 rev A. I've read something in the "stereo link thread of Echo North" about audio ground, elect ground etc... messed up which 'cause that kind of problem. I just don't have time right know to look further. Take a look, it's in the beginning of the 2nd or 3rd page.

I got my rev A version 1.2.5 today and have begun placing resistors.

R12 is labeled as 1k on the board, but the pdf has it marked as 2.2k.  The BOM from hairball also has you order a 2.2k resistor instead of an extra 1k.

Is this marked incorrectly on the PCB?
