Can't seem to find this, what is the mA available per slot, and does it change if using SMPS vs. floor PSU?
The SMPS is 2A per rail divided by 11 so 181mA per slot of course some headroom needs to be factored in. The toroidal transformer is rated at 2.2A with no load. We always figured it would safely provide the 130mA per slot VPR spec with some headroom. Can't seem to find this, what is the mA available per slot, and does it change if using SMPS vs. floor PSU?
Maximum worst case should always be less than 75mAwhile on subject, do you have a rough approximation of what a VP28 would draw at ~50% of full gain in mic mode?
While you're hear, when can I get a complete kit for your comp module. I've been in need of 8 of them for like 3 years nowMaximum worst case should always be less than 75mA
Jeff is on vacation until the 22nd. Probably not checking the boards right now. I'm anxiously waiting for him to get back with DB25 lunchboxes and compressorsHi Jeff,
hypothetically speaking, if an inexperienced builder installed the filter caps in reverse and they blew up, what would the correct part numbers be to replace them? Would you be able to share those? We do know the capacitor specs, but are unsure of the physical dimensions and lead spacing.
Thanks!
Are you 100% sure its the rack and not an outside cable or patchbay issue?I have a quick question for you guys before I get home from work and dive into troubleshooting this thing. I’m having issues with channel 8 passing signal through a Reddish EQ. The EQ works in other channels, and I tested a sound Skulptor comp which passed signal just fine. Anyone have any idea where I might start?
Thanks
Yeah, I tried two of the same eqs, and neither would pass signal, unless they were bypassed. Tried a compressor in the slot, and it worked perfectly. Wouldn’t that rule out a cable? I thought that maybe the Eq wasn’t sitting far enough in the slot, so I tried an extender card, but it gave the same results. Are you 100% sure its the rack and not an outside cable or patchbay issue?
It’s the DB25 version, 8th slot. Tried a couple different cables, same issue. Im going to mess with it some more in the morning. Is this an all XLR or DB25 version?
You nailed it! It was a cold solder joint on the output ribbon. Thanks Jeff!I would use a DMM to beep from the input side of the DB25 to the rack slot's input and the same for the output. I'd assume you have a short or couple bad solder joints on one or both of the flex PCBs.
