C1 capacitor in U47

Did you try the EQ? I often use EQ for mix. If you try it you'll find differences. I'll try to Upload  a couple of Acguitar+voc takes. Later.

Interesting, I preferred the polystyrene cap both times.

I have seen a few different u47 pics (one on Wagner's site) that used a mullard mustard as C1.

This cap has a very unique and harmonically rich sound in guitar amps and pedals I've used it in.  It was used in helios 69 c1 often and in the early Olympic Studios console eq section.

Does anyone have experience with it in a u47 vs the others, or know if this was Neumann's standard cap for a certain period of time?

Whats the minimum safe voltage for C1?  I know most schematics called for 400v, but would 250v be safe ?

Depends on your unloaded supply voltage (i.e.before tube heats up and draws current)
