Just come of the phone with Cyril Jones
I have pointed him here to our little portion of the web - so hopefully he will come and join us.
Anyway I asked him about the Helios Inductors - I aplogise if I have got some of this wrong - my knowledge is little
If we are talking about the Bass and Mids.
The Mid had 1 tap on the inductor.
When Dick was at Olympic there we no massive selection of coils around to be used.
So he used whatever he could find.
The originals for bass were a UTC one in a enclosed metal transformer can - inside this was a ferrite coil (it had to be to do "Q")
The Mid was an old RS Interstage transformer (no longer available) - some of these had 1 tap - some of them had 2 taps
It was lovely to talk to him - hope he pops over
