I am mixing a festival this week and started to look through the info thread on the Latch Lake mount, but could not find if the tilt is indexed or not. Does anyone know?

The tilt on mine is not indexed. You can position it anywhere within in the rotation and tighten it down. It won't slip.

Hope that helps!

Cheers,
jb

EDIT: Also regarding the handle. Mine has the part shown in Jeff's photo from Dan. This is a little hard to tighten/loosen sufficiently so the change to a lever style "knob" has made that operation much easier as far as I understand.

Here's another idea for the mic mount - Chunger is going to be getting mic bodies with M24 thread shockmounts. If he could get extra shock mounts, we could buy a M25 tap and thread them up to fit the binder. The tap would be expensive, but if it were a group buy sort of thing it would work.

i found a thread on another forum where the production process of the swivel mount is documented on various pages. lots of pics and descriptions:
http://lucasmicrophone.lefora.com/2011/02/14/new-microphone-construction/page1/

What an inspiring story! I'm was amazed at amount of thought that went into the Lucas microphone.

We all owe a great debt to Oliver for sharing this information, as well as for everything else that he has posted on various forums.

Agreed 110% about Oliver.

BTW, I think we might be seeing an M49 type kit from Oliver soon...

What should the approximate height on the capsule holder be to fit inside the head basket? Ordering a capsule soon and the holders come in three different heights, I need to choose one...

Any suggestions?

Th design of the boards allows for differing spacers. You can use them to adjust the height of the capsule.. If it doesn't make sense check out Dany's puck build thread.

Makes perfect sense! Thanks!  :)

Thanks!

Don't know those in the pic, but Thiersch Elektroakustik sell capsule holders.

Rycote makes a version of these with a built-in pop filter too; seen them on other sites and they look way cool! I don't get why the original style shock mounts are so ridiculously expensive, so this is a nice option. Thanks.

Edit - to remove erroneous info.
