How to make a volume control to the effects return on my amp out of a guitar pedal

Hello. I'm wanting to run out of my rockman x100 into effects loop return. I need a separate volume control so I can set rockman pedal volume at about 3/4 and control volume out of pedal to effects loop. Is this possible? I Have spare potentiometers laying around. Thanks for any help.

Effects loop return of what? Assuming that the effects loop input is high impedance it could be as simple as wiring the input signal to the top of the pot, and sending the wiper into the effects loop input.
