Lexicon PCM-80 display repair?

Hello, recently the VFD display of my Lexicon PCM-80 died during a lightning strike not far away, but it could be coincidencel It looks fried though and not just a leaked cap. I took it apart and attached a screenshot. Is something that's still repairable? Please share me your thoughts. Thanks!

I think you'll need a lot of luck to fix that and it would be best IMO if you try to find a replacement display somewhere, the original is IIRC obsolete. Like this one

Personally, I would replace the cap and resistor and clean the pcb. Lightning might have been a coincidence. Even if it doesn't work, it is > $1 in parts.

Thanks guys. I've cleaned it up a little and took a picture again. I'm not sure how to fix those black spots though. Is that eaten away or just oxidation?

Desolder the cap and carefully scrape away the black stuff.

Paste flux and heat from a soldering iron will liquify it and you can wipe it up. Replace the cap if it it smells like a dead mackerel.
