I don't think it will be that hard to get 1000 of these spoken for.

I think we still need to find a supplier who can do the brass inserts in addition to the plastic molding.

Great work! :), Interested about 12 gain knobs, and about 40 others. If you can choose, some blue and the other in gray. + 1 brass.

Hey guys. Great work. I'm watchin this thread with great interest.
I'm definitely in for at least the knobs for two ch 1073.

;D

Thanks

Benny

these would be cool on the ACMP clones. I have a pair of the 73's and dont really care for the black on black knob/faceplate jive.

any words?

I´m in. I don´t know what for, but i´m in.

I was wondering if the ACMP's would get too cluttered with the knobs. Doesn't seem to cover up the faceplate markings too much.

Thanks for the pic RIMSHOT. I take it those are original Marconi's?

The guys that quoted the knob with hard plastic insert have got back to me saying
They can supply the brass Part at a cost of 500 off @ £0.72 each. 2000 off @ £0.65 each

That's really good pricing.

So, the original quote from this place was:
£2.30 | $3.83 | €2.63  each

Now add £0.72 or £0.65 for the brass insert, and you get:

£2.95–£3.02

$4.72–$4.83

€3.24–€3.32

As far as I'm concerned, that's good enough.
Can we see samples of their work?
Can they do color-matching?

Skylar,

I thought that pricing had been obtained for the 'red' gain knob and skirt only? It's just that people are placing their requirements for a mixture ... red/grey/blue.
If this is going to include the equaliser 'knobbery' put me down for a couple of dozen grey concentric's. Will the knurled aluminium outer knobs be clear anodised? ;D

I'm the new boy (53), sorry if I have misunderstood the thread.

My understanding is that onlymeeee's quote is for the red wing knob only.

I would imagine that the other knobs would have similar pricing.

The tricky part of this whole deal is going to be figuring out what people actually want, and then actually getting adequate orders (funding) for each knob type.

In order to cover all bases, my guess is that we would want
- red wing knobs (clear skirt—1/4" shaft)
- blue wing knobs (clear skirt—1/4" shaft)
- grey knurled knob (1/8" shaft)
- blue knurled knob (1/8" shaft)
- anodized aluminum concentric knob (1/4" shaft—works with knurled knobs)

To make this cost effective & to meet min. quantities, we'd probably need to order 1000x of each.

So a simplified offering may have to be just
- red wing knobs (clear skirt—1/4" shaft)
- grey knurled knob (1/8" shaft)
- anodized aluminum concentric knob (1/4" shaft—works with knurled knobs)

But who knows? Of the 1000x wing knob run, maybe half red/half blue would not be much extra cost.
After all, the tooling is the expensive part.

This knob thing is going to take some serious organization.
I think we need more info from the manufacturer first.

By the way, thanks onlymeeee for getting the quotes! Good work!
