Hi Banzai,

not to put any pressure on the proceeding regarding the swivel mount.
But it would certainly be good, to have a solution from you.
Would make it easier without customs fee and expensive postage.
And maybe an attractive alternative to the Latch Lake ?

Thanks again, Banzai, for the phantastic mic bodies,
maybe you can chime in.

Regards
Manfred.

Hi,
Are there known dimensions for the three mounting holes in the base of the mic where the stack of circuit boards can attach?

Diameter of layout? Size of screw hole and threading?

Thank you.

I have made my own PCB's, so I have to look it up.
The holes in the bottom piece have metric M3 thread.
From the top of my head, the distance between the holes is 53 mm.

Edit: the diameter of my PCB's is 66 mm. That's about the maximum size that will fit.

Thank you.

I have attached a diagram, can you please confirm that I have understood what you meant to explain?

Thank you.

Yes I couldn't figure out if "distance between holes" described an isosceles triangle or what I had put forth.

Edit: Just checked some math: If the holes are 53mm center to center than the three will fit in a 61.2mm circle.    DIA = 53mm/sin60*

It will be great to learn what the actual design spec is as it seems difficult to measure accurately.

It's like this. (You can do the math yourself.)

I would first make a paper model, punch the holes and check if everything fits.

could you maybe post the schematics ?

thanks, n

I've building after this schematic:
http://www.tab-funkenwerk.com/id89.html

I used 10uf 63v cathode bypass cap, 250v from this schematic is to much, 63 or 25v is ok.
I have ca 1,7v drop down at the cathode (i think ca 2,2k, i use a trimmer) and ca 45v between anode and cathode. H+ is 6,2v and B+ is 119v with 100k resistor. I installed the EF762 Tube after RFT datasheed.
Its working good for me, but i still test.

P.s.  after some records and compare to my u47 clone with thiersch m7 blue, the M49 version (with Microphone Parts RK 47 Capsule) is a female smooth sounding tube mic and the u47 is the male aggressive version of a tube mic.

For all those looking for high ohm resistors in europe, here:
http://www.rs-online-privat.de/
You can find all 100M and 1G Resistors for a good price from TE connectivity.
Very fast shipping, in germany next day delivery.

A great Mic, thanks to Oliver (RIP) to give us this schematic

Sorry for the lack of response on the mounts, I'm just waiting to hear back for quotes.

Next step I'll ask everyone by e-mail how many pieces they want, and we'll figure out the rest from there.

Thanks for your patience guys!

thanks Eric

I guess the 1g resistor contribute a lot to the low noise floor. Brauner uses 1G  or even 3G, but I don't really like what it does to the sound.
