Are you talking about the -04 series Elma switches? Flimsy? I was about to splurge on one of these for a monitor attenuator, which gets a lot of action.
 
As I said, YMMV. I've used the SMD types from hificollective in a couple of hifi-amp reworks/upgrades. They have superior tracking and very low noise (if any?), but the tiny screws that hold the wafers in position tend to come loose, at which point the amp will suddenly blast away...
Tried with loctite and ended up cable-tying one together in frustration.
I replaced them with Alps pots, they're ok, but lack the nice click-feel.
