any chance to share your pcs layoutswith us ?
Jurgy[/quote]
Jüürgi,
any chance to share the m_assive _passive with us to copy the pcb layout?  :green:

but it seems that Jürgi don't want to lend me his MP for a day
the mp will sure run like before that process (usually) :green:

but as i noticed correctly... at least the filter pcbs are double sided  not the best to diy

As an owner and serial number holder of a MP, one is qualified to receive a schematic from M*nl*y.
So, Jürgen, I think you know what's your next task. :green: :green: :green: *Mit dem Zaunpfahl wink*

Hi all!
I don't want to see these pcb's commercially made & etc.
Also, they weird a bit- tones of jumpers.
If there is a chance to get the *.brd or jpeg file...
For non-commercial purpose only.
pm me.
Hum free? Yes, completely;price of ~20 jumpers on 100x160 board.....
Cheers,
IJ.

1.You should not worrie about posting your layout even though you dont want it made. I wont just make something if its specified I shouldt.

2. I am down to 1 of these boards, and Im not sure if I should make any more since there are revisions.

Is there something that could easily be done to the file I have ? You talk about adding a wire somewhere ?! Maybe that could be added as a trace on the other side of the board ?

Do you have any timeframe on your layout Mnats ?

Gustav

hi Gustav,

I just did up my first G1176 and it works well.Thank you for all your work
in regards to these projects. I love the sound of this one.
For an output tranny I used a 1:1 that came out of a LA2 clone.Seems to sound beeter than it did in the LA2

I like your idea of a trace added other side to the ver 7 board .
Make it even the whole side maybe?
I'm planning on trying out jensen and utc trannies so I'll mounting them
off board.

I'll buy some of these if you want to try an added trace.

cheers,
Lance

Fine with me. Is it something that would be hard to edit in the original gyraf file ?

Price would stay the same btw.

Gustav

none other, but adding trace to the other side and thru plating would still be an edit

Sorry I haven't responded to the thread earlier; I've been working on my DIY gate!

There are a few things I want to address on my modified boards before releasing Gerber files. One is the crowding of the power supply caps. Another is adding additional grounding pads to accommodate the shields of the various wires going from the board to the controls (part of the reason why my clone has virtually no audible hum at any reasonable levels also has to do with the wiring, I believe).

I realize that even though I put this board together from scratch even using my own component libraries, it IS based on Jakob's design. But it still has taken several tens of hours of work (maybe even hundreds accounting for all the minor corrections) to put it all together. So, selfishly perhaps, I would also like to have the first crack at offering boards for sale before later offering the Gerbers to everyone who wants them for any purpose (including selling boards on ebay). I have been unemployed for over two years after all!

Meanwhile, the pdf files on my site will work fine for one-off boards and will give the same results I have achieved.

Hey Mnats
It is your layout, and you are free to do with it as you please. If you do release the gerbers so other people can benifit from them I will not produce boards off them at any time. Ill stick with the old layout and, you keep this one.

I do have a comment though
Theres no middle man between me and factory! For the 1081 I couldnt go under Tommy becuase I wouldve had to pay startup for every single board, and therefore Tommy took that one over. Makes sense somehow. I thought it was about getting the lowest price for the group, not making a living. I can still go lower on things, but as long as I can outbid other manufacturers I dont see that as a problem, and if Ive got a little headroom I can do stuff like refab the faulty Melcors, make prototypes for boards and allow changes before I make batches, replace boards lost in mail, and keep the price lower as I always have a buffer and wont calculate risk of fabbing without getting payd up front into the price

Gustav,

Are you considering a try at tweaking the layout you have?

I'm about to try cutting the ground perimiter as Christian recently did.
Apparantly it was a big improvement.(see all things G1176 thread)

Maybe that and the added area we talked about and

also some added pads with holes for shielded wire on the audio in/out (if theres room).

what do you think?

cheers,
Lance

Sorry for my ignorance, but what are these pads everyone is talking about for reducing the hum? I'm getting started on a G1176 now, and am wondering if there's anything I should do before I stuff the board further?? Anyone have a picture of what these pads are?

hi Tubejay,

folks have been connecting shields for IN/OUT cables of audio.

I wonder now if it's needed after the ground trace cut experiment
I just did. See my post in the other thread.

Gustav,

I have a feeling this the only change needed in the gyraf V7 boards.

I wonder if someone could a try my cut and Gyraf's cut and compare?

cheers,
Lance

Had someone tried the cut on the board ?
If so, did it work.
If anyone can make the modification in the Gyraf file I can send a few boards out to get it checked before making a batch.

Gustav

hi Gustav,

yes , there have been two different cut experiments.

First experiment by Romeojesus .

Second experiment cut in different spots by me,

All described and reported on in the " ALL Things G1176 " thread.

Cheers,
Lance

Well. Like Ive said before. My expertise starts on the factory floor, and ends with the finished PCBs. I have no layout capabilities, and I truly know nothing about electronics as such. I have only just begun to memorize resistor values
