I kinda-sorta see what they were going for there, though - probably the cheapest and easiest way to have those component legs isolated / "in the air", without shelling out over $1 for any number of teflon stand-offs. Cheap, but admittedly somewhat clever / resourceful, imho :D

Yuck. I hate when companies put  glue on the PCB. Behringer does this on the newer B2 Pros too (but there's a pretty big difference in price between that and a WA87). It's safe to say I won't be buying a Warm WA87 ever. If I have to buy a premade U87 copy I guess it'll be a 3U Audio one.

I wouldn't be surprised if components are glued to impede mods and unauthorized repairs.
 
"Authorized" being "swap out the whole board (anyway)"?
