I run my vocals through a G9 and into an 1176 live.  I love the sound.  I'd like to take my vocal effects outboard instead of a computer, so I'm thinking of using a rack effects box in an effects loop.  I'm thinking it should be after the compression?

Can anyone recommend how to put an effects loop in the 1176 after compression?

Most effects unit have a mix or blend function that allows the original signal to blend with the output of the effects unit. Have a look at your manual or look for a global setting for mix, blend etc.

So the path would be something like this
signal --> g9 --> 1176 --> effects unit(blend 70%) --> amp

Alternatively there is a Send and Blend build that Ruckus has designed that I think could cater for your needs.
