2A is fine.

I sold my pcb's by Abe & went with Ilya's pcb's because they were closer to the original circuit. However I didn't use his led meter board, because I managed to get a pair of original meters a few years back & used them. See attached pic. I will probably get a better fascia panel done at some stage when I'm a bit more flush.

I used Gardners inputs, Sowter outputs, & edcor sidechains. Basically what I had lying around that was suitable.

I think Ilya has shut the shop for the moment because he lives in Moscow, & it's not a good time to run a business exporting stuff from there. I hope he's alright & able to resume his business soon. He was more than helpful to me.

I'm looking for a reliable logistic solutions and payment processing in current situation. There is some hope, but it takes time. Currently, I process all orders manually. If you need anything from my store, feel free to contact me and I'll see what can be done.

I have the Edcor's on s/c and o/p and the Cinemag on i/p

I don't really have the time to AB transformers, but wonder if Sowters on the o/p would improve the sound. I like what the above does when comparing 1.1 ratio to true bypass.

cool, how did you lot implement the I/p-o/p pot , did you use a stepped attenuator? how many steps, what's the value of said pot

cheers

Yes, but that is all on board the pcb Ilya's boards. You can probably see it in the attached pic. It the 2 wafer grayhill with the 2 rows of resistors behind it.

Rob how did you make the front panel graphic on pie , what's the raw material..

cheers
It's a printable sticker. You can get it from ebay for both lazer & inkjet printers in A4 sheets. It does tend to fade slightly with age though. Or with the inkjet variety it does.

I used standard pots these are set to zero and trimmed to unity internally with R23.

If I'm recording or mixing in stereo through outboard I tone test the bus to check L&R so potentiometers are good enough for me on this build.

Did you order a rotary switch for power and true bypass if so do you have a part number? I've struggled to find something that will handle the 240v.

What did you use for oscillator transistor originally BSY95A. Abes Bom is 2N4124. I had one mouser 2N4124 that works on both circuits hFE 266. I have ten other from Ebay. All transistors test as working but in circuit they distort the signal badly hFE 288+.

2N4124 = HFE 120-300
BSY95A = HFE 50-200

I had some 2N3904's in stock which were hFE 211 and these sound cleaner still although a little over spec.

This also makes me question the other 2N4124 in the circuit. It also makes me question if even when in spec will a lower hFE produce less distortion.
