S_S_L FX G-384 - Schematic?

does anyone have a schematic of the SSL G384 Compressor??

I looked at the user manual:

there's a drawing of the component placing on page 12

there are not so much components in there,
so it shouldn't be so hard to make real clone of it...

Ive been under the impression that the gyraf is identical just without the autofade circuit. The GSSL I built pretty much sounds just like the real thing for my dollar.

as far as I know the GSSL is made from the circuit of the G4000 Console, not from the G384...

I'm really happy with my GSSL, it's my favorite comp, but I'm just interested in the G384 and thinking of buying one if I could find one
for sale...

If we are to believe SSL, the G384 is the same as the G series mix bus compressor. The couple of times I've had the chance to compare one with an actual G series they sounded pretty much the same.

another thought, if you want one of those you really should support ssl and go buy one. getting a whole bunch of people together to clone a commercially available design from the company that designed it is really not the greatest sign of respect and certainly not in the best interest of this group of people here, IMO.

regardless of what people would like to interpret about what goes on here, there arent any projects here that you can really go out and buy in the form in which they have been made available here at the time they were made available. Doing an exact clone of something that an original designer is currently offering is just really bad karma.

the thing people are building here is not whats in that ssl box. perhaps thats a fine line, but one worth noting I think.
